Location of Operations: Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada
By purchasing a refurbished device or booking a repair/tune-up service with Caelan's Tech Lab, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.
1. Scheduling, Pickup, and Delivery
Coordination: All pickup and delivery times are by appointment only and must be mutually agreed upon.
Location: For security purposes, all in-person pickups are conducted exclusively at the provided residential business address in Moncton.
The "Three-Occurrence" Rule: We value your time and ask that you value ours. If a client misses three (3) scheduled appointments (pickup or delivery) without 24-hour notice, the order or service request will be automatically cancelled.
Cancellation Fees: In the event of a cancellation due to three missed appointments, any prepaid amounts will be refunded less a $20 CAD administrative fee to cover logistics and lost time.
2. Refurbished Computer Sales and Warranty
Limited Service Warranty: All refurbished computers come with a 60-day (two-month) limited warranty covering labor and hardware defects, effective from the date of possession.
Exclusions: This warranty does not cover:

Accidental damage (e.g., drops, impact, cracked screens).

Liquid damage of any kind.

Software issues caused by the user (e.g., virus infections, accidental deletion of OS files).
Voiding Warranty: The warranty is immediately rendered null and void if the device is opened, serviced, or modified by the customer or any third party other than Caelan's Tech Lab.
3. Refunds and Returns
Defective Devices: If a device proves defective within the 60-day warranty period, we will prioritize repair. If a repair is not possible, we will provide a replacement of equal or greater specifications. If neither repair nor replacement is available, a full refund will be issued.
"Changed My Mind" Returns: Fully functional devices may be returned within seven (7) days of purchase, subject to the following:

The device must be returned in the exact condition it was sold.

A 15% restocking fee will be deducted from the refund amount to cover data wiping, sanitization, and re-testing labor.
Service & Labor: Costs associated with labor (diagnostics, tune-ups, installations) are non-refundable once the service has been performed.
Special Orders: Hardware specifically ordered for a client's repair (e.g., batteries, specific screens) is non-refundable once the order has been placed with suppliers.
4. Repair and Tune-Up Services
Data Responsibility: It is the Client’s sole responsibility to back up all personal files, photos, and data prior to service. While Caelan's Tech Lab takes every precaution to preserve data, we cannot guarantee 100% data protection and are not liable for data loss or corruption occurring during the repair process.
Quotes & Market Volatility: Quotes provided for replacement parts are valid for seven (7) calendar days. Quotes older than seven days are subject to revision based on current market pricing and availability.
5. Unclaimed Property and Abandonment
30-Day Limit: Due to limited storage space, any device left unclaimed for more than 30 days following notification of service completion (or cancellation due to missed appointments) will be considered abandoned property.
Disposal: Caelan's Tech Lab reserves the right to recycle, sell, or dispose of abandoned devices to recover costs, after making a final attempt to contact the Client.
6. Privacy Policy
Data Privacy: We respect your privacy. We do not access, view, or copy personal files unless strictly necessary to perform a specific data recovery or repair task requested by the Client.
Information Usage: Personal contact information (Name, Phone, Address) is collected solely for the purposes of scheduling, invoicing, and warranty tracking.
No Third-Party Sharing: Your personal information and data will never be sold, rented, or shared with third parties.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of New Brunswick, Caelan's Tech Lab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including, but not limited to, loss of data, revenue, or business interruption). Our total liability for any claim arising out of a sale or service shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Client for said sale or service.
8. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of New Brunswick and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
