Pickup and Delivery

I arrange pickup and delivery with you, at a day and time that works for both of us. I only provide my home's address for pickup.

If no one's around to receive the delivery at the time specified, or you don't show up at the specified time, I will reach back out to try and arrange another day and time. This is a "three strikes and you're out" rule.

After a total of 3 missed pickup or drop-off periods, the order gets canceled. If you paid in advance, you get your money back minus $20 to cover the time.
Warranty

Refurbished computers come with a two month (60 day) warranty for service.

The warranty doesn't cover water damage or impact damage.

You can also break warranty if

you open up the device yourself,

have someone else open up the device (other than me),

or change any of the parts within it.

When Booking a Tune-Up

Please back up your files before service. I will do everything I can to preserve your files, but I cannot guarantee 100% file protection.

I will arrange a day and time with you to either pickup or drop-off your device for service. It also follows that "three strikes and you're out" rule, after which your tune-up will be canceled.
After your Tune-Up

Whether pickup or drop-off is arranged, please ensure you're around at the time specified. I want to get your computer back to you.

If you were provided a quote for replacement parts, you have 7 days to follow-up on it. After those 7 days have elapsed, I will have to provide you an updated quote for service since computer parts can move very quickly.

Refurbished Policy
1. Pickup & Delivery Logistics

Local Commitment: As a community-based initiative, I do not ship to other parts of Canada. I strictly offer local pickup and delivery.

Scheduling: All pickup and delivery windows are coordinated and agreed upon by both parties.

Location: For security and privacy purposes, pickups are conducted exclusively at the provided residential address, which is provided to the customer during pickup coordination.

Missed Appointments: I understand that life happens. If a scheduled window is missed, I will attempt to reschedule. However, this is subject to a three-occurrence limit.

Cancellation & Fees: After three missed appointments (pickup or delivery), the order will be automatically cancelled. If the order was prepaid, a refund will be issued less a $20 administrative fee to cover the time lost.
2. Limited Service Warranty
All refurbished devices include a 60-day (two-month) Limited Service Warranty effective from the date of possession.
Warranty Exclusions:
The warranty specifically covers internal hardware failure under normal use. It does not cover:

Liquid Damage: Any exposure to water or other fluids.

Physical Damage: Impact damage, cracked screens, or casing damage caused by drops or pressure.
Voiding the Warranty
To ensure the integrity of the repair, the warranty will be rendered null and void if:

The device is opened by the customer or any third party.

Any internal components are modified, swapped, or removed.
-
The original hardware configuration is altered without prior authorization.
Tune-Up service Policy
1. Data Responsibility & Liability
- Client Backup Requirement: It is the client’s responsibility to back up all personal files, photos, and sensitive data prior to service.

Liability Disclaimer: While every effort is made to preserve your data, Caelan's Tech Lab cannot guarantee 100% file protection and is not liable for data loss occurring during the tune-up or repair process.
2. Scheduling & Logistics

Appointment Coordination: Service starts with a mutually agreed-upon window for device pickup or drop-off.

The "Three-Occurrence" Rule: To maintain an efficient workflow, I enforce a three-strike policy for missed appointments.

3. Post-Service Collection

Timely Retrieval: Once the tune-up is complete, I aim to return your device as quickly as possible. Please ensure you are available during the confirmed return window to avoid scheduling conflicts or delays.
4. Quotes & Parts Volatility

7-Day Quote Validity: Quotes provided for replacement parts (RAM, SSDs, batteries, etc.) are valid for seven (7) calendar days.

Market Adjustments: Because the price and availability of computer hardware fluctuate rapidly, any quote older than seven days is subject to revision to reflect current market rates.
